He’s a pro. He’s also partially blind. You’ve probably never heard of him. It’s Saturday and another gorgeous day in California. The sun and a cool breeze keep the temperature in the low eighties. I’m standing on the tee box overlooking a long par five. The fairway’s clipped clean in perfect manicured lawn-mowed stripes. The green sits some five-hundred plus…

IN HYDESIGHT https://www.newidentitymagazine.com/live/in-hydesight/ https://www.newidentitymagazine.com/live/in-hydesight/#comments Wed, 28 Feb 2018 16:03:02 +0000 http://www.newidentitymagazine.com/?p=4965 I love watching Forensic Files. I could keep the Investigation Discovery channel on for the entire day without being bothered by it, which in most cases happens anyway while I am at work. The villagers finished up their work and began preparing the evening meal of white rice, dahl, and meat. We shivered around the fire, and I gasped when I turned back around to look over the valley. Electric lights flicked on one by one across the jungle…

She would come out with me on the weekends. She gave me the courage to be louder, more bold in my declarations, and even go to the extent of humiliating myself in the presence of my peers. She laughed and cheered alongside me, offering support and courage as I continued in my path of debauchery. I was captivated by her…

EGYPTIAN COPTIC CHRISTIANS https://www.newidentitymagazine.com/live/people/egyptian-coptic-christians/ https://www.newidentitymagazine.com/live/people/egyptian-coptic-christians/#respond Thu, 29 Jan 2015 20:43:21 +0000 http://www.newidentitymagazine.com/?p=2054 Nestled in the Mokattam Hills, this Zabbaleen church is chiseled entirely out of a limestone rock face. In bare, weakly sun-lit rooms nestled under Cairo’s Mokattam Hills, known locally as Garbage City, walls are littered with religious artifacts and most floors strewn in heaps of trash, waiting for sorters. At the break of dawn men collect up to 13,000 tons of waste daily…

For many people, one of the biggest influences in shaping who they are is their mother.

As sojourners in a fallen world, we are surrounded with endless opportunities to impact those around us with the Gospel. Christ’s Great Commission challenges us to make disciples of the nations and proclaim the name of the Lord to all. Rebecca Fuller and Jessica McBride…

Far from my home in Colorado, the lush new landscape of Ireland held more than simple tourist excitements and breathtaking views. It was here, so far from home, that I learned how much I did not realize about myself, my strengths, and God given gifts.
